Orchestrating Lives’ Early Intervention Conductive Education Trial: School Program Evaluation

Project area: Evaluation
Sector: Education
Client: Department of Education (WA)

Miles Morgan was appointed to evaluate the conductive education program offered at Carson Street School. This unique program is designed to facilitate the early development of physical and cognitive competencies in children aged 0-4 with severe physical disability.

The evaluation was designed to provide the Department with a comprehensive report on the features, processes and cost-effectiveness of the 3 year trial and provide recommendations for ongoing program design and delivery.

Research was comprised of literature review, stakeholder consultation, observation and collection and analysis of data.

The report concluded there were many positive outcomes to the model, and that government funding should remain in place until other suitable arrangements for supporting the program could be developed.
